Fitting the Sonic

The Sonic can be worn in either hand.

To resize the HUD, edit the HUD attachment and drag it to the size you prefer.

HUD Basics

The HUD gives quick access to the most common controls.

Open the main menu from the HUD to access:

Scanner

The Scanner menu lets the Sonic inspect the world around you.

Scanner options include:

Use Scan Avatar when you want to inspect a nearby avatar. The HUD will show selectable avatar entries when available.

Sim Probe

Sim Probe checks in a direction from your avatar.

Probe options include:

Extend, Retract, and Pulse

The Ext/Ret/Pulse menu controls the Sonic's active state.

If you manually extend or retract the Sonic, automatic mode may be cancelled so manual control can take over.

Emitter Colors

The Colors menu changes the Sonic emitter mode.

Available colors:

The Sonic scripts also use the selected emitter color to choose matching Sonic sound behavior.

Flashlight

Use Flashlight On to light the Sonic. Use Flashlight Off to turn the light off.

Shield

Use Shield On to activate the shield effect. Use Shield Off to deactivate it.

The shield requires the included compatible shield object/support setup.

Animate

Use Animate On to enable random Sonic hand animations, including throws, spins, and flicks. Use Animate Off to stop the animation cycle.

Pocket and Hand

Use Put in Pocket to hide the Sonic when you do not want it visible. Use Take in Hand to bring the Sonic back into your hand.

Role-Play Mode

Role-Play mode adds a battery/damage loop for more dramatic use.

When RP mode is enabled, the HUD displays battery state. After enough use, the Sonic can break and scanning behavior can glitch until repaired.
